Ultrasn0w 1.2.8 is now available to unlock iOS 6.1 after the firmware was jailbroken with Evasi0n. However, you should know that this won’t be unlocking any new basebands, as it’s just an update which adds compatibility for the latest Apple iOS 6.1 firmware.
Therefore, in simpler turns, the basebands of iPhone 4 and 3GS can be unlocked using ultrasn0w 1.2.8 on older iPhone basebands.
Unlock iOS 6.1 Using Ultrasn0w 1.2.8
It's the official Ultrasn0w unlocking tool updated to support the newest iOS 6.1 firmware on your iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S. If you are already unlocked your device using ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 6.1 / 6.0.1, you do not need to re-install the tool.

How to Unlock iOS 6.1 with Ultrasn0w 1.2.8:
Step one: Use evasi0n or Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 6.1.
Step two: Run Cydia from your springboard.
Step three: Tap on Manage icon at the bottom of the device and tap on sources.
Step four: Tap on Edit and tap on Add. Enter this repo: http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/
-Now tap on Add source and tap Return to Cydia.

Step six: Your jailbroken iPhone 4 / 3GS will start the unlocking process.
Step seven: After operation is complete, you need to reboot your iPhone.
Congratulations! Your iPhone 4 or 3GS is unlocked. Now you can use it on another carrier.

Are these users out of luck? Not quite! There is a factory unlock solution that is compatible with all iOS firmware including iOS 6.1, iOS 6.1.1, IOS 6.1.2 and all basebands (new and old). There won’t even be a need to jailbreak the device.

iphone 4 ios 6.1 BB 01.59.00 installed ultrasn0w 1.2.8 also ultrasn0w fixer 6.1 from repo.iparelhos.com but no service status i got signal for 30 second but after that i get no service status again and after 3-5 min i get one bar of signal for 30 sec. but lose it again it repeated continuously .

5. Search for ultrasn0w
6. Install ultrasn0w 1.2.8

I got my iphone 4 upgraded to iOS6.1 with preserve baseband but cant restore the sam ticket using the redsnow or the manual restore using ifile and dropbox. And still I get no service what would be the reason why this happening? :((
i have 3gs bb 5.13.04 (downgraded from 6.15), i tried installing ultrasnow fix 6.1 then ultrasnow 1.2.8 from dev team but there was still no service.. i searched and found a site that told me to try reinstall mobile substrate and ultrasnow, but to no luck still it didn't work... i now tried uninstalling ultrsnow fix for 6.1 and rebooted but still no service... help...

Uninstall ultrasn0w fixer and mobile substrate then install ultrasn0w 1.2.8.

I had this problem when i put the delivery reports for the ios 5, having ios 6.1. I have to unistall it, and rebbot the machine and install the new delivery reports ios 6, and everything is OK now
You can use factory unlocking.
Working & Tested solution for 3GS 6.15.00 baseband
1. Downgrade 6.15.00 to 5.13.04 baseband using redsn0w.
2. Download iOS 6.1 here.
3. Download Sn0wbreeze 2.9.9.
4. Launch Sn0wbreeze, browse for iOS 6.1, select simple mode, select activation.
5. Use Pwned DFU mode.
6. Restore your phone with created custom iOS firmware.
7. After restoring complete, Open Cydia and search for Ultrasn0w.
8. Install ultrasn0w 1.2.8 (follow the steps described above).

Update #1: Ultrasn0w 1.2.8 works fine on iOS 6.1.2 firmware. iPhone 3GS / 4 users can unlock their jailbroken devices on IOS 6.1.2 with Ultrasn0w 1.2.8 and preserved old baseband.

I can't understand why people would still need to use ultrasn0w 1.2.8 on an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.2 with baseband 01.59.00. It's pretty much nearly guaranteed that if you have such a thing, the phone is older than 2 years - so you should be able to get a Factory IMEI-based unlock from your carrier, no?
I bought my iPhone 4 (with 01.59.00) relatively late, and my 2-year contract was up in mid August 2012 and I immediately got a Factory IMEI unlock from AT&T.

I tested on both ios 6.1 and 6.1.2, on both firmwares ultrasn0w 1.2.8 not working on iphone 4 with old BB 1.59.00.
Better to downgrade ios to 5.1.1 who relay on ultrasn0w for iphone 4 with BB 1.59.00.

Hey Guys I really need some help! I’m not usually one to go and ask on websites, I just figure out my problems watching YouTube again and again, then reading instructions. But this time I really am stuck. So I bought my iPhone last year, in France, then I had to hacktivate it when I moved, the guy that did it let me stuck on 5.1.1 and I adapted to it. Except yesterday, after a Cydia Update, my Phone went on meltdown, and frankly so did I 9 hours searching for any solution to get it to work. I got Sn0wbeeze – Resn0w – Evasion. Ten iOS 6, 6.0.1, 6.1 and 6.1.2. The first Snowbreeze with 6.1.2 locked the activation, so then I went and worked with Redsn0w and 6.0, which hactivated my phone, but got the No Service issue. So I went back and upgraded it again with the Untethered Sn0wbreeze and it worked fine, but still no service. Downloaded SAM (Nothing Again!). I’ve been reading about this Ultrasn0w, downloaded it. Should I go back and downgrade? If I do so will it work? Or shoud I just stay on IOS 6.1.2 and wait for the next Unlock? Please guys, give me your best solution! Thank you!

I did a jailbreak with envision, ran ultrasnow 666, inserted a new sim card. It shows the carrier and sim in my settings however, won't activate on the network. Just continues searching.

You can't unlock iPhone 4 with baseband 4.12.05 using ultrasn0w. Factory unlock is the only solution currently.
just install bitesms from cydia (search for biteSMS this will fix the problem)
