I have an iPhone 4 on Redsn0w software & 5.0.1 ISO & 04.11.08 baseband, currently unlocked using the SAM unlock method,

so what i want to know is if i was to restore my phone, update to 5.1.1 via iTunes, then jailbreak my phone with Absinthe v2.0.1
will i be able to unlock my phone again or will i lose it due to the firmware & baseband change?

by the way i do have my SAM activation ticket & Lockdown folder saved!

so if anyone that is or was unlocked with the Sam method & has been successful in updating to 5.1.1 & Absinthe v2.0 & unlocking their iPhones, then please do report it here please.

    Thanks

My iPhone 4 was originality jailbroken on iso 5.0.1 & unlocked with the SAM unlock method, well last night i decided to update my Iphone 4 (as advised by others that had updated) to the latest iso firmware 5.1.1 so i could then re-jailbreak it with the new Absinthe 2.0.1 tool, so i went ahead & updated iPhone 4 to iso 5.1.1 then after that i tried to jailbreak it using Absinthe 2.0.1, but when i connected my iPhone 4, it said: Sorry, the attached device is not supported!

this is because when i updated my iso firmware, it was a newer version of iso 5.1.1 firmware, (ISO 5.1.1 9B208) which is an update specifically for iPhone 4 (GSM) which is at this time non jailbreakable until a new jailbreak is available!
Although there isn’t much of a difference it was enough to make the 9B206 untether payload for the iPhone 4 (GSM) invalidate on 9B208. So until pod2g/planetbeing build an untether payload for this build, 9B208 support is not included! DAMN IT!

so i now not only have my iPhone 4 (GSM) looked to it’s original carrier ( 3 which is a United Kingdom carrier & no good to me as i now live in Peru & was relent on the Sam unlock) but i now have a non jailbroken iPhone 🙁

i now wish i had not bothered updating to 5.1.1, as my 5.0.1 jailbreak was perfect!

Everyone who relies on Sam unlock shouldn’t update their iOS device. Because Sam unlock ticket is backed up using redsnow and their is no redsnow jailbreak for 5.1.1 frmwr (untether). Also everyone who is updating their devices to 5.1.1 must update it with custom ipsw. People who rely on Sam unlock can use custom ipsw to upgrade to 5.1.1 and use redsnow to jailbreak your device ( tethered) and use activation ticket backed up for Sam unlock after the unlock use rocky raccoon 5.1.1 from cydia to untethered JB. HOPE this helped.

i couldn’t use Racoon to unethered on cydia it kept giving me an Error ” the requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed said,” My phone is iphone 4 with 04.11.08 iSo 5.0 and after i jailbreak it on cydia it shows shsh: i0s 5.1, 5.1.1, 5.1.1r1 and was unlocked using sam and Jailbroken using redSnow. Any solution guys? I tried to use corona and gave me a subprocess error.
