How to Bypass iPhone Activation Screen on iOS 6 / iOS 5.1.1 [Video]

March 7th was the date when iOS 5.1 was released, as a major iOS update at the same time coupled with new iPad — iPad 3.

Apple fixed a few major bugs and introduced a handful of new features that also included Japanese language support for Siri — along with a new lock display for iPhone.

Apple also succeeded in fixing battery drainage issues in iOS 5.1 for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, but as it happens not all bugs that have been reported in iOS 5.0 as well as iOS 5.0.1 had been fixed in iOS 5.1. We tested and played around with this locked iPhone 4S as well as found an activation screen bug which enables you to bypass iPhone activation screen.

Every iPhone must be activated before it is possible to use it for the first time, and at the same time you need the official SIM card to be able to activate your iPhone and begin using it. Within our case, this iPhone 4S is actually locked to AT&T and naturally we require a SIM card to activate this iPhone, however, you can bypass this particular activation screen and go directly to your SpringBoard (home screen) without SIM card. Though you will find other ways in order to bypass your activation screen but that one is slightly different because it's the glitch in iOS.

Bypass iPhone activation iOS 6.0.1 / iOS 5.1.1

In case an iPhone is stuck upon activation screen you're going to get either SIM not valid or Activation Failed Error whilst activating your iPhone without the official SIM card. What you need to do then is press Home button once and you'll get several choices, tap on "Emergency Call" as well as dial any emergency number like 911 or even 112.

Now quickly press and hold the power button, so when you see "slide to power off" tap "Cancel". Your iPhone will return to Invalid SIM card or Activation Failed error screen, right now tap on "Touch to return to call" on top and End the call. That's it! Your iPhone activation screen is going to be bypassed and you'll get to iPhone's House screen.

Now you should note here that the actions are limited on this screen. You can't use Siri, you can't get to application switcher / Multitasking try. However, you can perform a few usual tasks such as browsing App Store or internet. Should you already have jailbroken iPhone 4S as well as somehow it is stuck on Activation screen you can visit Cydia and repair it by installing SAM again.

This particular bug exists in iOS 5.0.1, iOS 5.1.1 as well as iOS 6.0.1 too. It is nevertheless unclear why Apple didn't repair it. Have you tried it?

I am also running ios 6.1 Beta 4, and the phone does not charge when powered on, i think the reason is when i took the phone apart the first time after i dropped it in the toilet i kinda ripped a little bit of the dock connector strip when trying to remove the speaker.

This Fixed my phone lol

thank you thank you dear iphone jesus, totally works man thanks!

Help please. I installed SAM on my iPhone 4 ios 6.0.1 baseband 04.12.02 and respring it then I'm stuck in the activation screen. Please help!

this WILL call emergency response any deactivated phone must be able to place emergency calls by law! every time you do this you call 911 and you waste time that could be used for a real emergency 112 will call 911 if you are in Canada. THE best way to get past the activation screen is to get a pay as you go sim from the provider that the phone is locked to. pay as you go sim cards are free there is no need to set it up at all. just get the card pop it in the phone and it will recognize it no need to set up pay as you go account just put a new free pay as you go sim from the provider the phone is locked to into the phone and the phone will activate and say no service. and it will be permanently activated until the next time you decide to do a restore on the phone.

every time you do this you are actually calling 911

wow this work on my unjailbroken iphone4 running 6.1.3

A much simpler and safer option for the do-it-yourself repair person is to buy a complete screen assembly - not

just the touchscreen glass. There are two options with this route: Get the assembly with the LCD in it (about

$100) or without the LCD (about $60). Using either of these options means you don't need to use a heat gun to

replace your glass and you should be able to do the repair yourself in about 10-15 minutes. A video is worth

10,000 words so again, head over to YouTube and do a search for "iPhone screen assembly repair" and you'll find

several videos using this method.

You absolute fucking prick for posting this bullshit! It doesn't work and as a result I've made a fake emergency call, I hope every phone you own breaks within an hour of buying it. Cunt!

that doesn't work, if I activate it with a sim the phone is locked to, then enter another sim, it goes back to the activation screen

If you have done your research into mobile phones then you will know that some mobile phones have dual cores,

without getting two technical the more cores you have the better processing power your phone is going to have.

There are other factors that come into play such as the clock speed of these cores but like I said for the

purpose of this review I won't get too technical. The iPhone 4 only has a 1GHZ single core processor whereas the

newer model phones such as the Samsung Galaxy 2 have 2 cores. This however shouldn't put you off as the iPhone

will handle all the tasks you want it to. I have only ever found the phone to go slow when you are running

multiple apps simultaneously.
